Day
Break Catering's chef, Paul Tichy, was born in the former Czechoslovakia
where he was exposed to a wide variety of cuisine from an early
age. He became interested in cooking while helping his mother prepare
the family meals. It was her encouragement that ultimately motivated
him to become a Chef.
Paul attended higher education classes in his native country, all
the while dreaming of becoming an American citizen and Chef. His
dream was realized in 1985 when he
came to America and started working at a local restaurant as a dishwasher.
He paid his dues by working in all aspects of the food service industry
before being promoted to a Country Club Banquet Chef in 1987. In
the years that followed Paul worked as Head Chef and finally Executive
Chef for several well known Caterers and Country Clubs in the Sacramento
Area.
Our chef has been certified by the American Culinary Federation,
and has been the proud recipient of many awards.
